Final Reflection
Hey blog, I finally finished this project and I can’t express how much hard work has been put into it and how happy I am it’s finally finalized. I’m really proud with how the film opening turned out and even though it took us hours to re-shoot some scenes and retake some of the things I finally ended up editing it and I found some copyright free sounds to add into it which just added the final touches. With Canva we also made the finalized intro to it like the logo so I’m really proud about that too. I finished filming my CCR‘s, which as I explained in my CCR post production I was slightly disappointed, but it’s all right because I know I tried my best. I’m so grateful for this opportunity and I really hope I can do more projects like this in the future. It has made me grow so much not only in the technical sense but also in personal growth as to how things don’t go right the first time and it’s ok to retry them and remake them and how mistakes are inevitable and sometimes there for the better.It was my first time doing a any type of film and it was my first year experimenting with shots angles editing fully sounds and it’s crazy to see how far I’ve come, but I’m really happy that I was able to do this project and step out of my comfort zone, even though these were things I was not used to doing I’m super grateful to this class for giving me the opportunity to express myself and grow. I will miss blogging and recording and being part of this amazing process along with my teammates which I became way closer with after this project.

Post Production of CCR
Hey Blogg! I just finished filming my CCR im slightly disappointed because even after so much hard work and hours of dedicAtion and editing. They didn't come out exactly the way I wanted them to but its okay I trulhy dedicated time to it and Im proud that I was able to finish this essential part of my project and have it done! I had to re shoot so many time ands re take so many shots but its all worth it. I wish I could sya everything went according to plan but its okay because it all part of the learning and growing process I will insert some bloopers from my recording process.
Script for CCR #2 & Post Production
I finally decided that for my second CCR I will be doing a interview/documentary/through the lewns and behind the scenes. It will be a mix of me answering the questions for my CCR along with showing the behind the process of filming with research and examples showed.
Script: killer instinct is a horror film about a woman who is love language is to kill her boyfriends this film mainly addresses issues of mental health, relationships, and death. All adding an eerie feeling to it. My phone use a lot of the common genre conventions for her like secluded locations, dark color pallets and lighting isolation all demonstrated through the involvement and commitment when it came to the sex setting decorating it full of props since our schedules were tight with them throughout the day and had to completely shut all the blinds and decide what lamps could be turned on, and which one’s789 coming along with the use of candle to represent the psychological issue within all of the film. My film also had the common villain and victim, and its sub genre would be a psychological horror following her life and psychological trauma to what let her to become this killer along with the character development however, in these films, men are usually the killers while women’s are the ones getting attacked. I wanted to turn in for my film by not only making it woman lead, but giving a twist of the woman being the one killing her boyfriends. I decided to not use a single core event, most horror use, and instead of making a single climax of a death I chose to represent the characters journey as a killer demonstrated in the film opening, though as the one that changed everything for her, I also wanted to represent how is society how dangerous relationships can be and the way this is cause so many people to be hurt whenever you don’t know the other person fully, which is why I represented it in a horror way since I mean, audience is teen to late 30s. We decided to give it the romance twist since the most popular genre in young adults tend to be romance and horror with a bigger female audience romance, making it a broad audience for the film teens nowadays are obsessed with horror movies which is seen throughout thousands of studies and statistics. We chose to represent this and for shadow in the film, opening by having the opening scene of the two main characters watching a movie horror movie we are selves had to develop since this is a pretty amateur film. It would be distributed by audiences by being submitted onto a film, festivals platforms like YouTube and Vimeo along with building an audience and promoting it online.
CCR Prep
Hey Blogg! Today I started prepping for my CCR! Im planning on starting ,my recording process Tuesday however im still waiting in confirmation from my friends who will also be participating. I have bought a red carpet with famous items to record that part on Wednesday which I plan on doing in my backyard. My plan is to go with a small group to the movie theater tuesday at night in which were filming. For the second CCR I was maybe considering podcast or maybe like gameshow however I feel like tis not that orignal which is essential to authenticity. I have discussed different ideas im still not 100% sure about going to the movie theater becausse i think it good be hard to film in there but my idea will be essentially the same regardless. For my secomnd CCR I though about doing the voice over or documentary but I think I will do a mix of bopth to mix it up and make it more creative.
CCR Research Question 1 & 2
Question 1:
"How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?"
I first began doing a quick overview on convention and social groups or issues. Some social issues my film opening deals with is the way relationships nowadays are can be so disconnected and disassociated fue to multiple factors it leads to untrust along with never really knowing who you're spending most of your time with. However a way our products challenges conventions is by not going the typical jump scare, suspenseful horror but a more eery one in which audience is left stop by.
Question 2:
"How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
It engages with audiences because even though dealing with the topic of never fully knowing someone is pretty common and relatable its also not a typical situation a person is stuck in which i why is engages the audience. When it comes to distribution it would probably be submitted into smal films festivals or websites where you can upload film and have htme presented someone.
Planning for CCR #1
Hi Blog! Since my film opening is almost finishes I finally started brainstorming for my CCR at first it was super hard I had a really hard time coming up with something until our group meeting yesterday where a idea finally came up to me.
My plan is to record me and my friends walking into the movie theater where im going to say "Im so exited to watch "Killer Instincts" with our popcorn and everything ready suddenly im not going to be paying attention where im going to trip over something and fall as I fall im going to enter this dream where im the director of the movie and im going be in a red carpet answering the first two questions about it:
Group Meeting #2
Hi Blogg! Today we had our second Group meeting during the meeting we all showed each other our blog as well as our progress so far with the overall project and the film opening. We first saw Maxi's and Arthurs in which they explained they had to still record a part of their project buy were having issues with availability of all group member overall their project look pretty solid and good. Miranda rthen showes some of the clips she had since she had not yet started recording and it was really cool to see they did this shot using eggs which was super creative! Afterwards I showe mine thye really liked it however they did agree that we had to re shot the bathroom scene and gave me a suggestion on deleting one of the blowing candles shot during the credit sequence. We then saw the other projects which I think were great! I really enjoyed hearing from their perspective and being able to see others progress along with discussing ideas for the CCR.
Music/ Editing Process
Hey!! Today is a pretty exiting day we began editing a little portion of our project! We began editing and so far one of our favorite parts is what is yet to be the credit sequence the scenes for it I our opinion turned out really great along with the editing and special effect we are liking it a lot so far. As we where recording our project and we began editing our main character Juandi noticed we were having struggle picking a copyright free music that we felt matched our project so him being a musician himself recorded a piano song he made he felt would be fit for the project which was ideal for us! We are super greatful and super exited about finishing editing and seeing the final product! I will insert the video he sent us with his song and how the credit sequence is looking so far!
Detailed Explanation of Recording Process
Heyy Blog!! Today I will be going in detail into how our actual recording of the scenes went down. We began by recording the back shot of Naty and Juandi sitting down on the couch followed by him getting up to go to the bathroom we dedicated a lot of time into the bathroom scene and we were still not fully satisfied with it. It was first having to put the fake blood on it and then helping Juandi understand the way we wanted it to look like. We then had to re shoot it once we were all done because we realized you could see me recording the shots in the mirror which was pretty frustrating. We then moved on to filming Naty prepping the knifes and then the arguments. The clips which are going to be used for the credit sequence came out super natural we hadn’t planned yet how we wanted that to fully look and as were were organizing everything back and blowing the candle the idea came which was amazing because it turned out just like we wanted it to.
Set Up For Filming
Hello Blog! Today we finally filmed our project!! We were originally filming in natys house however last minute we ended up having to film at mine. We began by filming the movie we would be playing on the tv in which we used a morphe palet for the makeup which we later put on Annie's neck we then headed over to the garage where we applied the fake blood we had to be very careful so we could make sure we got no stain. After applying naty and the main guy character we used Juandi. We began filming tried different angles however when we finally saw it we didn’t exactly love how it turned out. We decided to edit it by lowering exposure making some adjustment to the picture and sharpens along with making it black and white. This made it turn out exactly how we initially wanted it. We then headed over to my living room turned down all the curtain set cancels all over the living room along with turning off all of the lights. We took like 10 minutes trying to figure out how to project it in the tv but we ended up figuring it out!
Building Character/ Changes & Fixes
Since our recording struggle I decided to do more research on the main character building of the guy. I have mentioned multiple times on the blog how I view the female character and want to build her vibe and character through setting and mise-en-scene. So today I will be discussing how I want him to be. I want him to be wearing neutral colors. To represent his personality along with his calmness. The backstory for him is not going to be too deep he was craving companionship which is why he got into the relationships he never suspected much about her until then. Obviously she's the main focus of the film opening but he is too because he is the one that's going to discover her secret. Because of her fascination with horror films which is going to be represented at the beginning. I also need to make a quick fix in the script which is that we had discussed with our teacher to take away the knock so the film opening doesn't look too concluded.
